So who/what is MagicalPockyUsagi?
TL;DR: She is a troll, and if you can’t figure that one out by yourself you’re probably retarded.
Let’s face it, a white redhead girl speaking fluent American English mixed with some broken Japanese, claiming to be (1) ethnically Japanese, (2) a Japanese princess reincarnated in a Caucasian body, and (3) a vampire.
I don’t know about you, but when someone claims to be a vampire I automatically assume that the person is trying to fool me, and if someone is trying to fool me on the Internets they are trying to troll me. However, judging from the amount of butthurt and controversy she has caused I must say that MagicalPockyUsagi is one of the most successful trolls on YouTube.
Her videos on YouTube mainly seem to attract the attention of basement-dewlling, easy to troll weeaboos who probably feel that insulting and bringing other weeaboos down somehow boost their own feeling of being proper wapanese. I think they have a lot of pirated, fan subbed animu and yaoi mangoo at home thinking: “well, I’m a weeaboo and pathetic but at least I’m not such a fucking pathetic weeaboo as that MagicalPockyUsagi bitch on YouTube”.
Well, sorry, but MagicalPockyUsagi is not real. The Akemi character and the account is a parody of The YouTube über-weeaboo of all times, Applemilk1988 or “Emiri-chan”. Applemilk was back in the YouTube heydays actually a quite a prominent YouTuber and later a YouTube partner, but she put her YouTube account on hiatus in 2010, making all her videos, except 3, private, so I can’t show any examples of her video production. Basically they were somehow similar to the Japanese related videos that are on MagicalPockyUsagi’s channel, with “pretty intense” “lessons” on Japanese culture, Japanese language and so on, but Applemilk’s videos were not so over-the-top and hysterical as MagicalPockyUsagi’s videos are.
On August the 4th 2007 the Applemilk1988 channel got hacked by someone who went under the name Jewbacca. Jewbacca got over Applemilk1988’s password (btw, LordNishikawa555) to her YouTube channel and started deleting all her videos and placed a another user’s Tayroll video on her channel page. The Tayroll video, consisting only of random 4chan pictures and perfectly SFW, accompanied with Tay Zonday’s cover of Rick Astley’s Never gonna give you up, got heavily flagged by Applemilk’s butthurt fanbois and other white knighters so the video is still age restricted on YouTube.
Back in 2007 eBaums used the same layout as 4chan.
All of this was of course pretty hilarious, and back then only YouTube partners could put videos on auto play so when you went on Appelmilk’s channel you were welcomed by being Rickrolled (or Tayrolled) by Tay Zonday. Unfortunately, for Applemilk1988 that is, she used the same password on all her other accounts, including her e-mail accounts, so there was no way YouTube could contact her and ask her what was happening so YouTube temporarily suspended her account until they could contact her.
The time between the temporary suspension and reinstatement was one of the most drama and lulz filled periods in YouTube history. Pro and anti Applemilk videos were made and posted and the comment sections were filled with rumors and frequently ended in flame wars. Fake accounts were started and amid all this lulzy chaos the MagicalPockyUsagi channel was started on August 16th.

Applemilk finally got her account back and the videos were restored from YouTube’s backup, status quo ante bellum reigned on the Tubes. The person behind MagicalPockyUsagi/Akemi might still be a weeaboo though, think of all the Japanese stuff she is displaying, but on the videos she is definitely trolling hard and effectively.
